Christians are told to seek the Lord, but many of us have no idea what that might look like today. It’s no secret that in Romans 3:11 it states: “There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.” We also see in John 6:44 Jesus said “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” In essence the only way we can seek God is if the Holy Spirit has first stirred our hearts with a desire for God. It is God who draws us to Himself.
This is further made very clear in Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Even the faith to believe for salvation does not originate within our fleshly nature. God enables the fallen human heart to seek Him, when in our own self-centered rebellion we would never do so. James 1:7 puts it this way “For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”
What I am leading to is this! If we are to be successful on this path to attain conscious oneness with the source, we must go beyond the mythical God of rewards and punishments beyond faith in some far-off being who is but a figment of imagination and superstition.
